STEPANAKERT, Nov.9 (ArmenPress) - "About 900 tourists have visited Karabagh over the ten months of the current year, several dozens more than during the specified period last year," a senior official of Karabagh permanent representation in Armenia told Armenpress.

According to Lida Gevorgian, the head of the representation's consular service, the actual number of foreigners who have visited Karabagh this year is much larger. "Many delegations, and tourists brought to Karabagh by private travel agencies entered Karabagh without official permit," she said.

As Mrs. Gevorgian stated, many Armenians from Armenia proper complain that they too have to get permission to enter Karabagh. "Diplomatically Karabagh is an independent state and the value of entry visas is of special importance for our state," she concluded.
