BUENOS AIRES, Argentina - Thanks to two local Armenian benefactors, Eduardo Seferian and his sister Adrine Seferian-Vartbaronian, the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia will have a new home in the Argentine capital. The opening of the new embassy was held last week with a number of prominent local Armenians, including Edouardo Caramian, chairman of the local branch of "Hayastan" All-Armenian Fund.

Armenia's ambassador to Argentina Ara Ayvazian addressed the ceremony participants. Per a recent decree by Armenia's President Robert Kocharian, he conferred the Armenian medal of St. Mesrop Mashtots on Mr. Seferian and Armen Medzadurian, vice chairman of the Boghos Arzoumanian Foundation, for their contributions to Armenian causes.

Prior to having its own premises, the Armenian Embassy was located for many years in an office building owned by the Boghos Arzoumanian Foundation.
