DAMASCUS, Syria - His Holiness Aram I, Catholicos of the See of Cilicia in Antelias, journeyed to Damascus this Tuesday morning for a meeting with Syria President Bashar Assad.

The private meeting lasted more than two hours. During the meeting, the two leaders exchanged views on the present political situation in Lebanon, the relations between Syria and Lebanon, and other related international issues.

The meeting was held at the Presidential Palace.

The previous day, January 1, His Holiness held a telephone conversation with President Emil Lahoud of Lebanon, during which they discusses a variety of national and international issues.
