YEREVAN, Dec. 27 (ArmenPress) - At present, 1,078 mass-media publications are registered, 46 have re-registered and 550 are subject to re-registration at the Ministry of Justice, said the head of the justice ministry department for registration of parties, mass-media and public organizations Edik Margarian. Since 1991, 70 mass-media publications applied to the ministry for liquidation. During this year, 4 newspapers applied for liquidation. There are about 50 registered non-governmental and non-trade organization representatives' offices and branches of foreign organizations. Twenty-one juridical unions are registered at the ministry.

Margarian said that the organizations and parties, whose regulations don't correspond with the provisions of the civil code which was put into action January 1, 2000, are subject to re-registration. He also said that, at present, 95 parties are registered, 23 of them have re-registered and 54 are subject to re-registration at the ministry.

It was noted that, till today, 2,397 public organizations are registered, 448 re-registered, and 1,386 are subject to re-registration.
