St. Sarkis and Mesrob Armenian Church Christmas Concert
PROVIDENCE, RI - On Saturday, December 9, at 7:00 p.m., the Cultural Committee of Sts. Sahag and Mesrob Church here will present their annual Christmas concert. This year's concert will feature soprano Lena Beylerian from Toronto, Canada.
Ms. Beylerian has been a member of Toronto's Holy Trinity Armenian Church Choir for over thirty years, as well as several other Armenian choirs, in which she has also performed as soprano-soloist. In addition, she has participated in several Toronto cultural affairs as soloist.
Lena has been the anchorperson for AGBU's Armenian radio program for over four years and has also performed on television. She has recorded three albums of church hymns accompanied by Levon Aprahamian, former organist of Holy Etchmiadzin. In 1990, Ms. Beylerian received an encyclical from Catholicos Vazken I for her many years of service.
Also participating in the concert will be Hakop Anmahian, violinist, the Children's Choir of Sts. Sahag & Mesrob Armenian Church and the Armenian Chorale of Rhode Island, singing Armenian and American Christmas carols. Music director for this concert is Maestro Konstantin Petrossian.
This concert will take place at 7:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of Sts. Sahag and Mesrob Church, 70 Jefferson St., Providence, RI, followed by a reception in the Egavian Cultural Center.
