Shiraz Charitable Union Protests

YEREVAN, Nov.10 (ArmenPress) - The Shiraz pan-Armenian charitable union of families with many children, is forced by the executive authorities of a Yerevan borough to give part of its premises, about 190 square meters, to the registry office, the head of the union Vigen Ghazarian told a press conference November 9.

According to him, back in 1993, the premises were allocated to the registry office, which used it only for a year and then passed it to the Union, which has repaired the building through its own financial means.

In Ghazarian's words, the premises need further expansion, as they are not enough for 1,300 children involved in different educational courses organized by the Union. However, ten days ago, the deputy minister of justice Ashot Abovian demanded that the Union vacate part of the building.

As Ghazarian said, they decided to organize a protest meeting on November 16.
