YEREVAN - The Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Armenia, in a statement issued last week, hailed the approval by the Italian Parliament of the resolution recognizing the Armenian Genocide.

"The decision to reaffirm historic events offers the means to overcome the legacy of the past and create new grounds to recreate cooperation in the region," said the message. "Welcoming Italy's appeal, the Republic of Armenia stands ready to embark on a dialogue to resolve outstanding issues with Turkey," concluded the statement.
